"Thank you for giving me something to smile about. My new smile is actually better than I expected. My new teeth look totally natural, which is just what I wanted. I will recommend you at every opportunity."

Dental Health Tip

You may have been told that ‘wear is normal’ or that ‘it will go away on its own’, but in reality, no problem can be solved without finding the root cause.

Dawson Principles

Manor Dental Health’s principal dentist, Nick Allday is a Complete Care dentist who has dedicated many hours of postgraduate education learning how to care for you at the highest ethical and professional level. Taking an holistic approach to dentistry, he considers you as a whole - not just your teeth.

Nick has undertaken advanced tuition at the Dawson Academy in the UK, a prestigious postgraduate dental training school that started in America and has spread worldwide.

A primary principle of Complete Care dentistry is to do what is necessary to achieve long-term maintainable health and comfort, as well as the creation of a beautiful, natural smile. After all, there’s no point painting the walls if the plaster is falling off.

For example, if you kept breaking your teeth, Nick would spend time finding out why. Perhaps you grind your teeth in the night or maybe your diet is high in acidic foods that are causing wear. Whatever the reason, Nick would treat this issue first, before ploughing in to replace the tooth, only for exactly the same thing to happen a few months down the line.

  • We take a unique approach to your dental care
  • Nick Allday examines your mouth as a system, rather than looking at just your teeth
  • Over-treatment is never acceptable
  • Hurried, incomplete examinations or ineffective treatment planning too often results in dissatisfaction
  • There is no more beautiful smile than one that’s in harmony with the features and contour of your totally individual face

Would I do it on me?

Complete Care dentists are trained to use the WIDIOM rule that means “would I do it on me?”. This concept requires careful examination and treatment planning designed to help you understand every problem so priorities of treatment can be put into proper perspective.

Case Study

Dawson complete 3D assessment

This patient’s main concern was wearing and breaking her back teeth. She had noticed wear to her front teeth but hadn’t connected the two. Her front teeth had worn at an angle and her back teeth had worn so much they were becoming sensitive.

We fully assessed her models photos planned. Showed her how her smile design would look before we did anything. She had her front teeth restored with tooth coloured filling and 2 crowns on her back teeth. We could have provided veneers instead but decided these would be too invasive

Our front teeth work as guiding teeth for the back ones. If they wear, our molars can make contacts that they are not designed to do. This results in their wear and sometimes the cusps breaking.

We are able to design a new bite based on the ideal function of your teeth. By default at the same time we improve the appearance of your teeth and make them look good and work well at the same time.

“I have been attending Manor Dental Health for a number of years and have always found my treatment by Nick Allday excellent. Having recently had a lengthy course of treatment including teeth straightening, two crowns and whitening, I was always totally comfortable and was delighted with the result. The staff are very friendly, quickly putting me at my ease, which was important, as previously I have found going to the dentist quite traumatic.” S. Dugdall
